Cleese will give an April Fool's Day lecture at Cornell University on
the life and works of W.C. Fields. Cleese was named a professor-at-large
at Cornell in 1999. The school said the actor-comedian has titled his
talk: "W.C. Fields: A Comedian for Politically Incorrect Times."
He will be joined by James Curtis, author of the new biography, "W.C.

| ワーナーブラザースとクリストファー・ノーラン監督は、予定されているバットマンの新作に「ブレード」のライターDavid Goyerを起用した。新作の筋立てはノーラン監督によるコンセプトに従い、噂されているような「BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN」や「BATMAN: YEAR ONE」とは関係がないもようである。ノーラン監督は、この作品を撮ることが決定してから「BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN」のオリジナル脚本を書いたAndrew Kevin Walkerとも会ったが、最終的にDavid Goyer に脚本を依頼した。Warner Bros and director Christopher Nolan have hired David Goyer (BLADE) to write the script for the next planned BATMAN film. It was reported the plot would follow a concept by Christopher Nolan and would be "unrelated to non-starters like BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN and BATMAN: YEAR ONE." Nolan has been meeting with screenwriters since he signed to direct the next BATMAN film. Andrew Kevin Walker, who penned the original draft of BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN, had met with Nolan but Goyer won the job in the end. |

Eastwood plans to produce and direct a feature film about another American
icon, astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon. The
actor-director said he has acquired the rights to a forthcoming authorized
biography on Armstrong by noted historian James R. Hansen. Warner Bros.
Pictures will release the film, the studio announced Wednesday. Eastwood,
who produced, directed and co-starred in 2001's "Space Cowboys,"
doesn't plan to star in the Armstrong biopic, but he expects audience

1975年のホラー古典映画「The Stepford Wives」がパラマウント映画により、フランク・オズ監督でリメイクされることとなった。アイラ・レヴィンの小説をベースとし、Paul Rudnickが脚本を担当。キッドマンはスケジュールの兼ね合いなどもあり、この作品に集中するためスコセッシ監督作品「THE AVIATOR 」から降板することが予測される。また、この映画でジョンとジョアンのキューザック姉弟が七回目の共演を果たしている。2人は最近では｢ハイフィデリテイ―」で共演した。Paramount Pictures remake of the 1975 cult horror classic The Stepford Wives with Frank Oz on board to direct. Written by Paul Rudnick, based on the Ira Levin novel. Kidman meanwhile is expected to drop out of a starring role in Martin Scorsese's THE AVIATOR to concentrate on STEPFORD. This will be the seventh time that Cusack will be working with his sister. The pair were most recently seen together in High Fidelity. |

Columbia Pictures and Senator International will partner on the thriller feature "30 Days of Night," to be produced by Ghost House Pictures, the production company launched last year by Senator, Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. The film is based on the comic book series of the same name. It will be set in Barrow, Alaska, the northernmost town in the United States, where, in the middle of winter, the sun sets and does not rise again for more than 30 consecutive days and nights.From the darkness, across the frozen wasteland, comes an evil force that strikes terror into the residents of Barrow. | The guy who's been at the top of the charts to wear those tight tights was Josh Hartnett (who is currently shooting WICKER PARK in Montreal）, but according to the Hollywood Reporter, he has now decided to drop out of the running, so that leaves the slate clean for director Brett Ratner ( who directed the RUSH HOUR flicks and RED DRAGON) to choose among the many, hunky movie guy stars out there.I thought that Ashton Kutcher was in the running as well, but according to the Reporter, the three current names being brandied about are Brendan Fraser, Paul Walker and Matthew Bomer . Actually, Bomer is a TV star from such shows as "The Guiding Light" and "All My Children". Anyway, nobody knows who's gonna get picked. WHO DO YOU THINK SHOULD BE THE NEXT SUPERMAN? |
